With most children, if you sat them down at the dinning table and told them they had to read a book many if most would not oblige to say the least.
My two boys were much the same, still are! however during a trip to the USA we bought some place-mats about dinosaurs and the State of Oregon. Nothing special (i.e. not as good as ours), but they have not put them down, in fact years later they still sit and read whats on the place-mats and that's what gave me the idea for producing my own.
We have found that the place-mats have brought interesting conversations to the dinning table, in fact it's not been unusual to find the boys quizzing each other on the information. They have become more inquisitive about the topics in general. The best part of all, is that they do it because they want to. They enjoy the learning experience.
The place-mats are double-sided, A3 size (300mm X 420mm) (16.5" X 12") They consist of thick card printed in full colour on both sides, laminated in a gloss 350 micron sleeve. The place-mats are child friendly both safe to handle and with rounded corners. The materials are all British made and are recyclable.
